Vegetable tanning allows this leather to take on the patina of time and retain its natural feel. Using carefully tanned leather, craftsmen cut, assemble and sew leather components by hand. The two-piece Grimaud placemat matches the rest of MIDIPY’s genuine leather collection for the table, which includes Gassin placemats, Gordes coasters and Bonnieux cutlery trays. Care As a natural material, our leather requires care and maintenance to last you over time.
Here are a few tips to preserve its quality and aesthetics: Clean your item with a damp sponge and make sure it’s dry before storing (flower side: treated, flesh side: no moisture) Don’t put your product in the dishwasher or soak it in soapy water Avoid placing hot utensils on your items Sets are treated (graining) against stains of various origins (wine, alcohol, sauces, coffee etc.). Cleaning is done with a sponge and water, and a little liquid soap if necessary.
